Wimborne RFC
Sherborne RFC

Wimborne Black Jets produced a superb second-half performance to secure an impressive 44-12 victory over a strong Sherborne Ladies side at home this weekend.

Sherborne made a confident start, opening the scoring with a well-worked attacking move that demonstrated their quality. However, the Black Jets responded brilliantly, hitting back with a quick try to get themselves on the scoreboard. Wimborne continued to play their own brand of rugby, moving the ball well and finding space to score a second try.

Sherborne then crossed for their second try following a questionable line-out, bringing the visitors back into the contest. With both sides showing plenty of attacking intent, the first half ended all square at 12-12, setting up an intriguing second period.

Following the half-time break, the Black Jets returned to the pitch with renewed determination, taking their game to another level in response to a challenge laid down by coach Jack Barnes.

The home side began to dominate, playing intelligent, heads-up attacking rugby and making excellent use of the whole squad. Their teamwork, support play and ability to spot opportunities saw them pull away from Sherborne, with tries coming from across the team as Wimborne took control of the match.

The Black Jets' attacking display was rewarded with a convincing 44-12 final score, capping a fantastic team performance and showcasing the squad's depth, determination and growing confidence.

Try scorers for Wimborne were Bonnie Tory-Craddock, Livvy Bessant (two), Kat Biddle, Poppy Blundell, Daisy Lowe, Thea O'Keefe and Jordan Sharp. Bessant also added two conversions.

It was an excellent result for the Black Jets, who will take plenty of confidence from their second-half display into their next fixture. Their next home game is against Swanage & Wareham ladies on 1st of November at 2pm.
