It puts player welfare at the heart of the game and covers how to organise and manage the game so that it is played in a safe and enjoyable manner.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING
CONCUSSION Course
All First Aiders, and parents in the M&Y section are encouraged to visit the RFU website to view the relevant courses available.
These courses are designed for parents of players, and for coaches and players to identify symptoms of concussion, and how to manage any such injuries.
Course Purpose
The First Responder course has been developed for coaches, match officials, and other club volunteers who are not qualified first aiders. The course will provide them with key skills to support them in pitch side medical emergencies.
Objectives
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand their role and the roles of others in a pitch side medical emergency
- Provide initial support to the injured person to prevent further injury
- Identify resources available within their club which can provide vital support in a medical emergency.
Course Purpose
The Active First Aider Badge is designed to help you prepare for the season ahead and meet the minimum standards for your role. It combines essential learning with optional modules, giving you clear, relevant development and resets each year to keep you up to date.
Objectives
By the end of this module you will have completed the following:
- Two First Aid CPD Modules
- One Player Welfare Module
