Wimborne lose at home
Try: Ashton Kerley
Wimborne’s return to Leigh Park for the rearranged fixture, postponed from January, with Old Centralians from Gloucester ended in a comprehensive defeat at the hands of a well organised visiting side.
Wimborne’s effort throughout could not be questioned but the much changed team were unable to ever get much of a foot hold on the game and were always struggling to contain the physical game plan of the Gloucester team.
Old Centralians gradually built up a lead over the course of the first hour of the match to which Wimborne were unable to put together any meaningful counter attacks.
In the final quarter of the match Wimborne did eventually threaten the visitor’s line and after one or two near misses were rewarded with a consolation try late on when Ashton Kerley went over to finalise the score line.
