Wimborne travelled to Cheltenham to take on the unbeaten league leaders and whilst coming away without getting any score on the board for the first time this season they were able to take a lot of heart against a side who have racked up a succession of impressive victories on their home turf.
Charlie Parry, Ollie Hamer, Max Tipping and Tom Lofts for his seasonal debut all came into the team.
Due to a waterlogged pitch the game had to be re routed to an alternative venue in Cheltenham and both sides took some time to settle down.
For the first 30 minutes Wimborne competed well and were only a score down but injuries in succession to back rowers Miles Corbin and Jack Cook and later to Sean Murphy meant Wimborne had to rearrange their already stretched resources and as a result their hosts gradually built up a score line to put the task beyond Wimborne.
Next week return to Leigh Park for the visit of Oxford Harlequins.
