Under 7's and Under 8's Quiz Night

Under 7's and Under 8's fundraising event : We are holding a Quiz Night at the Clubhouse on Friday 14th November at 7.30pm
£5 per ticket, including a ploughmans. All proceeds will be split between the main club, U7's and U8's.

New Milton 'B' Festival

We turned up at a very windy New Milton. After the gazebo went up 10 minutes later it was down.
We were the first game on and we were playing Winchester. Normally we are slow starters but we came out with all guns blazing and with some strong running from Om we won the game 6-3.
Try scorers Om (3), George, Robert and Jake.

Next game was Romsey and we played really well in this game but lost out by 7-5, but with Om scoring another 3 tries, George and Robert getting one a piece.

The third game was against New Milton and this was a really close game which ended up 4-4 with tries coming from Om (2), George and Sean.
We are now playing some really good rugby and the tagging is getting really good in very windy conditions.
This left us third in the group and we were playing Bournemouth in the semi-final of the plate.

We said to the children that if they want a medal or another game they will have to win this game. Wow they must have had something special in the break because they came out and won 7-0 , they were outstanding with tries coming from Ben, Om, Jake (2) , Robert, George and James.
This put us in the final where we played New Milton's other team. We started this game as we had finished the last, and went 4-0 up, but New Milton started coming back strong and we had to start tagging well, which we did, and we won the final 7-4, tries came from Jake (2), Om, James, Ben, George and Adam.

It was a great day and there was good performances from the whole squad.
Our first Trophy, lets hope its not the last.

WRFC U8s vs Oakmeadians

We started with the first game against Oaks. We are normally slow starters but we started this game with all guns blazing and won the game 3-1 with two tries from Sean and one from Jake. The second game was against Blandford and we selected quite an inexperienced side and they played wonderfully and drew the game 4-4 with tries from Om (2) George and Kameron. The third game was against Oaks and we were in our stride now and won the game 6-3. In this game Barnaby was outstanding and was taking the ball at pace and scored 4 tries. Ben and James got one apiece as well. The final game we played Blandford and we finished the day with a 6-4 win. The scores coming from Om, Kameron, George (2) and Harry H (2). All in all a great day, and finishing unbeaten was even better. Every one played well and it was nice to see some people have their debut games and play so well. The tagging was great and lets keep that up for the rest of the season.

Salisbury Tournament

We sent two sides to Salisbury and this was a tournament to get everyone to play. We had some new children, and this was their first game and I think they all played well.
The red team played 4 games but unfortunately lost them all, but I feel this was really good experience for the players that have not played a tournament before. Well done to everyone in the red team and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves
The yellow team played 4 games and lost 3 but beat Salisbury 5-3.. We seem to take a few games to get going because by the last two games we were playing some really good rugby and Om scored a really good try in the last game against Isle of Wight. Well done yellow team. I know we only won one game but I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we will come back stronger at the next tournament, as last year we started slowly but by the end of the season we were playing some really good rugby.

Sunday 12th October 2008
Cobham Tournament

We went to Cobham with a squad of 10 players. Our first game was against Aldershot and Fleet and we lost this game 4-3 but we scored one of the best tries as Ben broke through a passed at pace to Robert coming through and this one moment made all training worth while, as it was exactly what we have been looking for. We then played Egham and we won this game 8-6 with some good running from Hector and Olivia. We finsihed second in the group so we played the winners from the other group and this was Rosslyn Park. We played our best rugby in this Quarter final and we were so unlucky to loose 2-1. I will say no more on this game but one of the children came of and said the official need to go on a course. We were really proud of everyone this day, the whole squad played well.
