Newsletter 08 - 09 Season - Issue 4 (December)
As you see under the training section, training
will go to Thursday evenings only from week
commencing 8th December. What has prompted this decision
is the numbers attending training on both evenings
has reduced - with most players only ever making one
of the nights. This causes problems trying to plan
any meaningful team play training as invariably one
or two key positions are left unfilled. This is not
a permanent loss of Tuesday nights as it will be back
in February or sooner if the weather is kind. However,
it should be noted that selected players for weekend
matches will be expected to attend the Thursday night
training or risk losing their position.
Andy Curtis will still be available on Tuesday evenings
from 6:30pm. The past few weeks have proved very successful
with Andy so lets continue to support this service.
The cost remains at £10 a session which is a third
of the price if you were to see a physio privately.
Results have been up and down - but a great performance
last weekend against Bradford on Avon lifted everyone.
I support the move to one night training for a number
of reasons and the weekends match highlighted it.
A longer break between matches and training will allow
players to recover and not aggravate any injuries,
team play numbers at training will improve and hopefully,
moves run on the training park can be transferred
to match days.
I have detailed information about a possible tour
in the newsletter. I would be interested to hear from
anyone that thinks they would like to go. This is
the time of the year when tours have to be planned
and matches arranged.
The 2nd team has done a fabulous job supporting the
1st team with players. The players that have stepped
up to the mark have done a great job. A big thank
you from the club, the coaches and me.
Finally, I have now placed the order for the blazer,
shirt and ties so no further orders will be processed.
I have yet to be given a delivery date but I will
keep you informed as soon as I get confirmation.
