Having won this festival the previous 2 years in U7's and U8's, we did feel the pressure was on. However, as this was our first contact season, we knew it would not be easy. We were there to have a go, enjoy the day and gain some experience.

Match 1, Wimborne 0 Bournemouth 5
Our 1st match was against a very tall Bournemouth side. We started well, with some great tackling and ended the first half 0-0. In the second half Bournemouth attacked strongly. Louis Ross and James Thorne tackled particularly well and we conceded only one try.

Match 2, Wimborne 15 Fordingbridge 10
We started our second match a little more prepared for the contact game. We made hard tackles with Evie Smith showing particular strength in the srum. William Gibbs used his skill and stamina to score a magnificent try. Half time ended a try a side.
Joseph Pearce, William Tate and Oliver Jessup made some great tackles in the second half and Max Tipping made a superb run on the wing, scoring our second try.
Fordingbridge came back quickly to equalise but William Gibbs ensured our victory with his second try.

Match 3, Wimborne 15 Ellingham and Ringwood 0
By the third match we had more confidence as a team and it showed. Dexter made a great tackle and Max Tipping single handedly scored our first try. Ryan Long made a quick break and ran for the try line, scoring just before half time. Ryan almost scored in the second half, but just went into touch. Another great run by Max Tippping made the final score 15-0. A great team effort.

Cup Semi Final, New Milton 10 Wimborne 0
Our results put us into the semi final against the home team New Milton. They were strong, organised and drove hard, scoring two tries in the first half.
We were not deterred and played some excellent team rugby in the second half. James Thorne made some strong runs and we defended well, conceding no further tries.
As a team we came away having played well, with effort and determination. We gained valuable experience and can build on this for future matches.
