Wimborne u15's have enjoyed a fantastic season, the best yet for this set of players, including remaining unbeaten at home.
We have a squad of 28 players of which 7 are new to the team this season.
Our playing record was:

  • played 18
  • won 13
  • drawn 1
  • lost 4
  • with 66 tries for and only 27 tries conceded.

In addition to this, 3 teams didn't turn up for matches at Wimborne (I guess they were too scared!!).
Of the 66 tries scored in the year we had 18 different try scores so it was a real team effort. The 66 tries led to 33 conversions.
Top points scorer was Jack Lawson with 70 points and top try scorer was James Fox with 11, just beating Jack Lawson and Ryan Mckenna with 10 each. Ryan being the top point scoring forward.

Our representative players were James Fox in Dorset and Wilts and 6 players Oli Bluck, George Draper, George Collins, Tom Dyer, Adam Crowther and Joe Brewer playing for Dorset Saxons
No official tour this year due to numbers, but the lads had a great day out and training session with London Irish meeting Shane Gerathy amongst others.
At the start of the season we enjoyed the Lexus tournament finishing second in our group and missing out on a place in the semi finals by two tries on count back after finishing level with the other team.

Trojans 24 - 12 Wimborne
The first 5 minutes of this game looked like an episode from Casualty as first one player then another took knocks, pulled muscles etc. We must have made 5 changes of players or positions in 5 minutes. It was no surprise therefore to concede an early score due to some good forward work by Trojans which they converted. Back came Wimborne and some great work got us within inches of the line before a couple of knock ons stopped us in our tracks. With decisions going against us the Trojans backs got up a head of steam and scored a good try. When a penalty is given against you it's no good turning your backs and debating why, and we were caught out and were 19 v nil down. Rather than heads dropping we continued to play our running rugby and good hands by the backs gave James F some space and his pace and swerving run resulted in a great try with Matt F adding the extras. Into the second half and we suffered at the hands of a driving maul and Trojans forward power took them over to score. We were on the defence 5 meters from our own line when awarded a penalty. Rather than kick James F tapped the ball and took off swerving in and out of Trojan defenders. One Trojan shouted "somebody just tackle him" before James changed direction and ran straight past the player who had just shouted. Only the full back in his own 22 stopped the run that would have been the try of the season. However we kept up the pressure and when turnover ball was gained some slicks hands from the backs got the ball to Ryan M whose great pace and angled run burnt a hole in the Trojans defence and he raced in to score. Despite some more good attacking play the Trojans defence held on until the final whistle. After the initial early disruptions a good team performance.

Gosport & Fareham 23 - 12 Wimborne
With county call ups again depleting the squad the last thing we needed was a motorway pile up delaying the arrival of half the team. We ended up playing 13 a side with Gosport having subs for fresh legs. This disruption saw us maiking a slow start and G&F had soon driven us back in the maul to score. Better defence followed and although we couldn't get over their line we were keeping their attacks at bay. Unfortunately we conceded a penalty which they successfully kicked to give them an 8 point lead at half time. Into the second half and another penalty kicked made it 11 points down. But this team are fighters and with a mixture of forward power and the backs speed we forced play into their 22 and recycling the ball down the line it was Matt F who stepped his opponent and powered over to score. As the second half wore on we began to make a couple of mistakes and G&F pounced on this and with slick hands they were in for a score which was well converted. Then it was the turn of their forwards to drive us back and the pick and drive worked well to score in the corner. Despite going a man down due to injury Wimborne found the strength to power back upfield and after some good hand it was Luke C who used his pace and power to drive over and score. Matt F added a good conversion but the final whistle blew straight afterwards. A great effort by the team in trying circumstances.

Last home game of the season and an unbeaten home record to protect I got the shock of my life when I realised that I had to ref the game as the arranged ref made a no show. Also with the conditions I was unable to make notes so some of this report may be a bit out!! I do remember Swans starting really strongly and using the driving maul they gained ground before their backs put them 5 points up. I also remember not being able to keep up with James F who raced from his own 22 on the back of great hands from the backs to score under the posts the equalising try which Jack L converted and he also went wide again with great pace before half time to give Wimborne a 7 point lead at half time.
Despite the conditions the handling of the backs was fantastic and showed that we were willing to run the ball from anywhere which no opposition likes. Into the second half and again it was the backs using great hands to put Connor A, playing his first game of this season, in at the corner. With conditions getting worse and worse the forwards took control of the game and with a combination of rucking and mauling play it was Ben S who powered over to score the next try with Matt F converting. Back came Swans and their backs got some good ball and they used it well to score. Wimborne wanted the last say and they got it with the forwards combining well with the backs and I think it was Luke C who drove over for the final score of the day and Jack L added the extras. The conditions got so bad both teams began to look alike so whose hands were in the rucks it was impossible to say but as I blew the final whistle we had achieved the unbeaten home season we had wanted.
No wonder 3 teams in the season didn't turn up to play us!! Well done the whole squad.

With both sides suffering from County call ups, a game of 13 a side was arranged. The early minutes ebbed and flowed but it was the defences that were on top and neither side could break through. After quarter of an hour Salisbury were on the attack when great pressure defence caused the ball to be knocked to the floor. Quick as a flash Jack L had kicked through and showing good footballing skills and great pace used the kick and chase to the posts and collect the ball to score and convert his own try.
Five miutes later and the trick was repeated, great defence loose ball hacked through and Jack L using his pace to pick up and run half the length of the field to score. Matt F adding the extras. The next period of the game had both sides attacking well but defences holding firm. It has been a strength of the team this season that everyone tackles and tackles hard. Slowly we worked the ball into the Salisbury 22 and were awarded a scrum. Everybody bar 1 player thought a backs move was on. That player was Adam C who spotted the gap and exploited it to the full to race in and score. Jack L adding the extras.
The final score was one of my favourites of the season. Starting in our own 22 counter rucking got us possession, and the pack and backs combined to take the ball into the Salisbury half. Just as the move appeared to slow Ben S scooped up the ball, used side steps not often found in a prop and raced into the clear. Although tackled by the full back he was still able to pop the ball off with Ryan M on his shoulder and we were over. A great team performance against a good team with a fantastic result.

New Milton 0 - 12 Wimborne
We arrived at New Milton knowing this would be a tough match New Milton were formidable opponents having defeated Wimborne last year with ease. The boys were fully aware of what they had to do and they went out and played with great heart and team spirit. We took a number of injuries in the game and we were short of county players and some boys had to play in positions they were not used to. The scrummage worked well against the New Milton pack even though the lineout took time to get going we had a good amount of possession. Both sides attacked and defended well until in the first half a bullocking run by Joe B supported by Jamie enabled Giles B to receive a pass that he weaved his way through the New Milton defence to finish off and score under the posts. Jack L converted to give Wimborne a 7 - 0 lead at half time. In the second half we brought on our substitutes and they bravely carried on the momentum. New Milton never let up their attacks and the game could have gone either way. The Wimborne scrum held fast even though we took further three injuries in the forwards. It was nearing the end of the game when Tom D playing wing received a ball through the three quarters to score an unconverted try in the corner and seal a victory for Wimborne. It was a good game for both sets of players played with good heart, well done lads keep it up.

Blandford 17 - 61 Wimborne
Arriving at Blandford with just 15 players we found that they only had 11 so we lent them 2 players so that we could have a 13 a side game. Whether this disruption stopped the players from focusing but several missed tackles meant we found ourselves 5 v 0 down in next to no time. After some good pressure from the kick off the backs got some good ball and although not playing in his usual position Ryan M showed great pace to round the opposition winger and score with Jack L adding the extras. We were soon back on the attack and again the backs showed good quick hands and it was Ryan M in at the corner to score. A great touchline conversion by Matt F made it 14 v 5. The next try came from a barnstorming run by Chris B breaking tackles and powering on from his 22 to the other until he was brought down but Tom S was on his shoulder and his speed took him clear to score. Unfortunately they were both wearing Blandford shirts at the time. Although we pressured well, too many times we kicked away possession and the half time score was 10 v 14. With the words "keep the ball in hand" ringing in their ears the Wimborne players really turned on the style in the second half. First it was Joe B who made the break through the line of defence and although brought down quick ruck ball and slick hand enabled Ant M to race over and score with Jack L adding the extras. Again Joe B made the break and with a kick through well chased it was Ryan under the posts for his hatrick and Jack L again converting. More pressure soon led to us having a 5 meter scrum and with quick ball one dummy and Jack L was through to score and convert his own try. Catching the restart Luke C powered up through the defence all the way to the 22 before offloading to Ant in support to score his second with Jack again adding the extras. Back on the attack again and it was Ryan M who made the break and a good offload saw Luke C in support and Jack made it 10 v 49 with the conversion. The next try was a real pleasure with everyone in the team involved showing good hands, rucking technique and awareness of space. It was finished by Jack R showing great pace and skill to get in at the corner. A great way to bring up the half century. A good piece of skill by the Blandford fly half saw them pull a try back but the day was rounded off with another great team try with all involved saw Ryan M become the 2nd player this season to score 4 tries in a game. Jack L added a great conversion to make the final score 17 v 61. A great team performance especially in the second half when we kept ball in hand. Big big thanks go to Chris B, Tom S, Jonny S and Matt F who played for Blandford and tried so hard for them. You were the best players in their team in my humble opinion.

Wimborne 31 - 10 Dorchester
It was Wimborne off to a flyer as within the first 5 minutes we had driven the ball deep into Dorchesters' 22. Initially we were held out by some good defence but recycling the ball well it was a late run to the blind side that opened up the defence and using his speed and throwing a dummy let Jack L in at the corner to score. The forwards soon had us driving back upfield and with more quick recycled ball the backs used their hands to good effect and put Tom S in the clear and his pace took him home to score in the opposite corner. Back came Dorchester and put us under pressure in our 22. Whilst my back was turned we turned over the ball and got the ball to James F who sprinted clear the length of the field and with a final dummy to beat the full back scored a great try. The extras were added by Jack L. From the restart Dorchester had us under pressure once more until the forwards turned over the ball and good quick hands from the backs gave James F room to outpace the defence and run three quarters of the length of the field to score his second. The extras added by Matt F. Back came Dorchester again and with Wimborne giving away a series of penalties it was the Dorchester pack who powered over the line to score and cut our lead to 24 v 5 at half time. The second half was a much tighter affair with both sides having periods of pressure. From one of our attacks the forwards gave us good quick ball and using their hands the backs gave Joe B a crash ball and he tore through the defence and used his pace to score under the posts. Jack L again added the extras. After this the Dorchester pack started to get on top and with some good rucking and mauling play were able to force their way over the line despite some great defence for long periods. Both sides mounted pressure but neither were able to add to their score before the final whistle sounded on a great 31 v 10 victory over a strong Dorchester side. Well played one and all.

Wimborne 29 - 0 Bridport
With a quarter of the squad away with county we took on a full strength Bridport side in great conditions for running rugby. And it was the all round running rugby that got Wimborne off to a great start with backs and forwards inter linking until Jack L, playing at fly half for the first time sold a dummy and went through the gap to score and then added the conversion to his own try. We were soon back on the attack and it was another dummy bought and Jack L was through the gap again and using his pace he scored his second in the corner. With our forwards gaining good ball and using their pace to add to the backs pace we were back in Bridports 22 when we looked like we were going open a blind side move opened the gap and Jack L was in again for a hatrick before half time and we led 17 v 0. After the restart the game ebbed and flowed a bit but our defence held firm and with a flanker at center it was a great backs move that led to Ryan M looping after a great pass by Tom S and Ryan's pace took him away to score and it was well converted by Matt F. As the game drew to a close we were back in Bridport's 22 and pushing their pack back towards their own line. A panic clearance kick went straight up in the air and there was Jack L to catch the ball and score his fourth try of the day. The final whistle went shortly afterwards on what was a great victory with a quarter of the squad away at county.

Lytchett 0 - 39 Wimborne
A new year and the coaches resolution that we will not make another slow start was answered in style. In fact I was still collecting gear from the changing room and only just saw Giles B using his pace out wide to score in the corner. I am sure it was a well worked try by the whole team! We were soon back on the attack and after a good run the pack turned over the ball and Jon S ripped the ball clear and powered over the line to score. More good work by the pack saw ball turned over again near the half way line and with good hands by the backs James F spotted the gap and his pace took him through it in the blink of an eye and he was away and noone could catch him. Jack L added the extras. The forwards and backs were combining well and we were soon back in Lychetts'22. Great pressure defence by Jack R and he charged down a clearance kick, collected the ball on the run and sped clear to score to give us a well deserved 22 point lead by half time. At the start of the second half we were put under pressure but good defence kept them at bay despite being down to 14 men for 10 minutes. When we regained the ball and full numbers of players it was good work by the backs to enable Joe B to burst through the defence with power and pace to score in the corner. We were soon back on the attack and from a scrum in their 22 Adam C picked up, sold a dummy and powered over the line. Matt F added the extras. It was the last move of the game when the forwards kept the ball and a mixture of mauling and rucking was finished off with Josh R scoring a great try to make the final score 39 v nil. A great team performance.

Wimborne 7 - 7 North Dorset
Due to the wet conditions at home this Dorset and Wilts cup match was held at Canford school. Once again we were off to a slow start and North Dorset's bigger pack were driving at and over our line in the first 5 minutes. Back they came again and it was only some frantic and some heroic defence that kept North Dorset at bay. Finally as the half progressed we were able to exert some pressure of our own. After a couple of our attacks had been repelled we were awarded a penalty in their 22. The ball was taken on a crash run by Joe B who was held up just short of the line but by keeping his legs pumping he powered through the tackle to score. A successful conversion by Jack L and we were level before half time. The second half was probably the most one sided no scoring half of rugby you will ever see as we attacked and attacked and attacked but were unable to break through. A fantastic effort by all the players and on this occasion, due to the rules of the competition we were the better team but were out of the cup because we were the home team. At least we can say we were unbeaten in the cup this year!

Conditions were dampish but the pitch was heavy after all the recent rain. Again Wimborne started sluggishly and Swans bigger pack were taking advantage of the conditions and by half way through the first half the Swans pack had crashed over for a couple of tries despite some good defence. It was no good kicking away possession so we decided to start running from deep. The backs and forwards started to inter mingle and using slick hands were able to put James F into space out wide and his pace burnt off the cover defence and he was in under the posts. Jack L added the extras and we were only 3 points down at half time. Despite having lost Chris B to a stamp on his elbow we started the second half brightly but were unable to get over the line due to some good defence by Swans and some bad luck. Time was running out and we were back on the defence until some good rucking by the pack saw the ball turned over to us and with some great hands and and a good eye for a gap the backs were able to give James F room out wide and his pace and great angle of running saw hi break clear to score. Matt F added the extra and we had finally got in front. Time went into slow motion as Swans attacked but the defence held out for a good victory in testing conditions

There was a bright round object in the sky that some people were calling the sun for a change and a good pitch for playing rugby. Wimborne started the game looking half asleep and after a good run by the Oaks forwards, some missed tackles and we were down by 5 points. Enough players had woken up to keep the score at 5 v 0 with some good defence before finally the whole team woke up. The forwards got to work as a pack and took play deep into the Oaks 22 and after some good ruck ball the backs used their good hands and pace out wide to put Giles B in at the corner and the scores were level. Finally we had got up a head of steam and after working the same moves Giles was put away again but it was touch in goal given. More pressure from the pack and we were held up over the try line as the half time whistle sounded with the scores level. Into the second half and we were soon back on the attack and after good work from the whole pack it was Luke C who ripped the ball out of the maul and sped over to score out wide. A great conversion from Jack L gave Wimborne a 7 point lead. Back came Oaks and put us under good pressure in our own half but the defence held strong. Then by turning over ball on our own 22 we turned defence into attack. A great kick by Ollie B into acres of space took play near the Oaks 22 in midfield. As their full back fielded the ball he was tackled with enormous force by Ryan M to dislodge the ball. The rest of the pack arriving at speed rucked the ball and Ryan clear, so Ryan picked up the ball and ran around their back line and scored under the posts. Matt F added the extras and we were 14 points clear. Back on the attack again we were looking likely to score again but the final whistle blew. A great win after a sluggish start.

This was another game of underwater rugby!! Early on Bournemouth took play deep into Wimbornes half but good defence kept them at bay. We then managed a spell of pressure on them but couldn't break through. They came back at us and although we held them out for 5 mins a good backs move and a powerful forward run saw 2 tries conceded in a couple of minutes. We were soon back on the attack but there defence held out and at half time the score was 12 v 0 to the home team. For the second half reread the first half only wetter and windier!! Despite the scoreline this was a close game between two well matched teams, one of whom took their chances and other not quite able to this time.

Many thanks go to Oaks for this match after Blandford became the 3rd team to cancel our home matches this season. We were soon on the attack and after the forwards had made some great ground the ball came down the line to Joe B who burst through his tackler on a great running line and he showed a clean pair of heels to the rest of the defence to score in the corner, his first try for the club. A couple of minutes later and we tried the same again. The forwards powered to the Oaks half, quick recycled ball passed down the line and Joe burst through the defence. This time though the full back caught him but a beautiful offload out of the tackle to Ryan M on his shoulder and Ryan's pace took him clear to score. All the backs were running great lines in the first half and the forwards were giving great support and showing good power in the loose. This combination brought us to within inches of scoring but the ball was turned over. Bridport kicked away the ball to be fielded on the left touchline by James F. Looking for space James ran across the whole pitch, around the other 29 players and showed great pace to score in the right hand corner. From the restart Oaks exerted some good pressure and kept us down in our own 22 until the forwards caused a turnover. Ollie B put in a great kick into acres of space and just as the Oaks full back thought he was dealing with the kick he was tackled by James F and the loose ball was drilled by Jack L towards the Oaks line and chasing his own kick Jack collected the ball to score under the posts. The try was successfully converted by Matt F. Then in the last moments of the half great hands by the backs after good work by the forwards saw Giles B heading for the corner but he was just denied the score, touch in goal. Half time 22 v 0. The second half became scrappy from Wimborne with too much lost ball and good work by Oaks had us under pressure and from a tapped penalty they burst through our line to score and convert. After a great run by Brad J and some good handling the ball was kicked through the defence and Ryan M raced through to dive on the ball and score under the posts only to be denied as the ref gave a knock on and blew the final whistle. Final score 22 v 7. A great team performance especially in the first half and Oaks gave man of the match awards to Chris B and James F

Wimborne worked hard against a very talented Taunton side. We held the majority of possession for 20 minutes in the first half but were unable to convert it into points unfortunately taking a few injuries on the way which didn't help the flow of the game. Ten minutes from the end of the first half Taunton made four tactical substitutions bringing on more of their county players who then went on to score two tries against the run of play. As one Wimborne boy stated during half time “we owned their pack in the first half”.

Taunton scored a try early on in the second half and our boys' heads went down for a while. Wimborne did fight back but were unable to stop Taunton scoring a further two break away tries before a reward in the last ten minutes when Giles B scored an ostentatious try in the corner as consolation. From our perspective it was a great team effort for a side who last year found defending an uphill struggle. They showed guts and determination which was a credit to the boys themselves and the club.

We gratefully received many compliments from Taunton congratulating the boys on the fact we had given their U15s team a quality game. It can be noted that this Taunton age group are currently the best year at the Taunton club having recently put 70 points on Bath and 65 on Bridport. Well done Wimborne keep it up!

This was underwater rugby at its finest!! It is difficult to understate the weather conditions without sounding like Michael Fish, but suffice to say it was torrential rain throughout the game and a howling gale making the rain horizontal. It was into these conditions that we kicked off but the weather and some dropped ball soon had us back in our own 22. However the defence was exceptional and the tackling ferocious by the whole Wimborne team and we were able to drive the opposition back. With possession changing hands often is was a case of three steps forward and two back, but with half time approaching we got into their 22 and awarded a penalty but a knock on cost us the chance of scoring and the half ended all square. With the wind behind us some good tactical kicking especially by Ollie B saw us start to exert pressure on their line. Bridport tried to use their forwards to get out of the 22 but more great tackling stopped them in their tracks and as the pressure told the ball was spilt and it was Luke C who caused the fatal turnover and he swooped onto the loose ball and dived over the line to score. With the overhead power cables shorting out due to the weather the game continued like the first half but the wind was dying and Bridport gained momentum driving us back to our own line. Twice in the last 5 minutes Bridport got the ball over the line but a Wimborne player would put his body on the line and under the ball to prevent the try. The tackling was superb and the commitment even greater as the defence was tested to the limits for a full 5 minutes without possession within our own 22 but the lads were not to be denied. A great show of courage, commitment, desire and teamwork in dreadful conditions. Well done all.

The first quarter of the match ebbed and flowed as both teams exerted pressure but were not able to convert it into points. As we approached the second quarter a break down the right wing by Jack L, a good kick ahead, and a quick maul steal from Tom A saw him surge over in the corner to score. Good work by Dorchester saw their player break through in the clear but a great last gasp tackle from Tom A saved a score. Dorchester were back on the attack and a clever kick into space was mopped up 5 meters from his own line by James F who put on the afterburners to race around the cover defence, and outpace the whole team to score under the posts. The conversion duly added and we turned around with a 12 v 0 half time lead. Into the second half and we were back on the attack and although Dorchester took the ball into the maul it was Tom D who ripped it out of the maul to power dive over and score. Dorchester were back on the attack and clever kick through had us in trouble until Ryan M cleared up the danger and powered back over half way. Good quick ball was won and Giles B fed Tom A onto James F back to Tom A and returned to James F to score a really well worked try. Credit to Dorchester as they were back on the attack just outside our 22 but the ball was ripped out of the maul by Tom A who set off up the field before feeding Luke C who showed good power and great pace to burn off the cover defence and race around under the posts. The conversion added but we hadn't finished scoring yet. After a thumping Ross C tackle led to turnover ball and more great work by the forwards and backs interplay we forced Dorchester to concede a 5 meter scrum. With the coaches calling a blind side wing move, Adam C showed his sniping skills to race over from the base of the scrum. This was followed by the final whistle and a great result over a good Dorchester team had been achieved by the hard work and great skills of all 22 players with us running out 34 v 0 victors.

First full game of the season and we started as we want to go on. Despite great pressure we were unable to score in the first quarter due to a touch in goal decision and a held up verdict, but the lads were not to be denied. A poor clearance kick was fielded by Brad J who span out of two tackles before setting up the maul. Quick ball resulted and good hands by the backs gave Jack R the space to race in and score the first of the season in the full game. A great conversion by Jack L on debut for the club. We were soon back in possession and after a great run by Chris B the pack used the pick and drive to great effect and it was George C, with great awareness of the touchline and corner flag who powered over to score the second try. We were soon back on the attack again and this time it was scything run by Jack L inside and outside of defenders and racing through to score and he duly converted his own try. Just before half time and we back on the attack until a moment of ill discipline meant a penalty was reversed and dummying a kick to touch a cross field kick and lots of kick and chase let Lychett in just before half time. Into the second half and another powerful run from Chris B took us deep into their 22. Unfortunately Chris was hurt in the move but his replacement Tom D picked up from the base of the scrum and powered over to score. Almost straight from the kick off we missed a couple of tackles, the only ones of the day, and Lychett pounced on the error to race half the length of the field to score. Had we given them a lifeline? No! Great power by the pack saw us march downfield and good handlin by the backs got us within 5 meters of the line with our scrum to come. Tactical changes by the coach led to us only having 14 men on the field but it mattered not as Tom D repeated his powerful pick up from the base of the scrum to score. More indiscipline saw the other Jack L sin binned after a row with the ref, but Wimbornes whole team showed some great defence and would not let their line be breached. Then as the pack gained ascendancy once more it was Ryan M who showed the pace and running lines of a back as he scythed through the defence and race through to score. The conversion was duly added and despite more great attacking play from the forwards and the backs the final score remained Wimborne 36 v 10 Lychett.

12 a side matches of 7 minutes each way. First match was against Saltash and we made a sluggish start getting caught in a couple of mauls. A kick downfield was held up in the wind and bounced nicely for their winger to run in and score. Much better work after the kick off and Wimborne were driving downfield. Having forced Saltash to touch down behind their own try line the half time whistle went. Again we went on the offensive but loose ball gave Saltash the chance to kick and with the wind in their favour we were back on our own line and another turnover cost us a try. Despite making all the running for the rest of the game we could not break through and had lost 10 v 0.
Second match was against Wallingford and with the coaches words ringing in their ears the performances really started to pick up. Great driving play by the forwards took play deep into their 22 and then great hands by the backs saw the ball moved down the line to James F to run in and score. Half time and we led 5v0 and the work was just beginning to pay off. Again the forwards gave a great platform to attack from and after a clever kick into space and good recycling of the ball the support play of Ryan M enabled him to power over the line and score. Straight from the kick off we were back in attack and forcing the opposition to make mistakes. Getting into their 22, an opposition scrum was destroyed by our pack and from the resulting turnover great hands again by the backs allowed James F show off his pace again and score in at corner for the third try. A good touchline conversion saw the final score Wimborne 17 v 0 Wallingford.
Final match was against Reading. Great pressure from the whole squad saw us camped in their 22 but some panic decisions and some greedy play saw 2 tries spurned. However Josh G terrorised their scrum half from a scrum and good hands again by the backs saw James F in for his third of the day. With the conversion added we led 7 v 0 at half time. Great tackling and good pressurising saw us back on the attack and again the backs showed their good handling skills this time putting Jack R in the space and he raced in to score. The final try of the day was classic with backs and forwards combining beautifully showing power precision and pace to burn and with the ball going through every set of hands it was Jon S who powered over the line to score. The conversion duly added we had won by 19 v 0. By some strange calculation method we did not make the semis in favour of a team who had won less matches but the performance showed Wimborne u 15's are a force to be reckoned with.
